The Indiana P.A.G.A. Chapter was developed by Manuel Trinidad, Ed Vela and other fellow golfers. Manuel Trinidad first heard of the PAGA thru Tom Mendoza of the Oklahoma City Chapter. In 1973, Fort Worth, TX was the host city for the National P.A.G.A. Tournament and Convention. Manuel Trinidad and Ed Vela were invited to attend as quests of the Chicago, IL Chapter. At the convention meeting, Roy Garza from the Chicago chapter introduced and nominated Indiana to become a Chapter of the National P.A.G.A. A committee headed by Ed Vela went to the National P.A.G.A. Winter meeting in McAllen, TX and plead our case. After some deliberation, on February 9, 1974-Indiana became the 27th Chapter admitted to the National P.A.G.A.
In 1982, several chapters formed a Midwest Tournament for those golfers who were unable to attend the National P.A.G.A. Tourney. Each year, one of the Chapters is responsible for this two day event which takes places during the Labor Day Weekend. At present these chapters are Rockford IL, Chicago Il, Indiana, Saginaw and Detroit Mich.
